The practice in the field of architecture began in 2012, created by the architects Joana Carvalho (born in 1988, Covilhã) and Marco Santos (born in 1988, Tomar), with academic training at the University of Beira Interior. Years later, in 2018, COMBO ARCHITECTURE STUDIO was founded, based in Matosinhos, Porto.
The work carried out in the office focuses mainly on two areas: architecture and production of virtual images.
The work in architecture cover various scales, uses and typologies, with emphasis on single-family housing, collective housing, service, industrial and tourist buildings. The experience in the requalification and reconversion of existing buildings with patrimonial value has been central in the practice.
The office's principle is in the detail and rigor of the projects, culminating in a continuous and demanding technical follow-up in the construction phase, in order to guarantee the construction of the project into the architectural building.
