Kadre Architects is a driver and catalyst in design leadership for social cause. Founded by Nerin Kadribegovic, the firm reflects the architect’s relentless drive, heightened creative thinking and indomitable forte for dissolving complex obstacles in service to significant social and humanitarian change.

Kadre Architects is emerging as a nucleus for interdisciplinary collaborations focused on solving critical issues facing metropolitan urban centers around the world; cities gripped by displaced populations and environmental and/or socio-economic crises. In addressing the Los Angeles housing crisis during the urgency of the pandemic, Kadribegovic’s strength in navigating markedly restrictive design challenges, especially where economy is paramount, resulted in unconventional, award-winning solutions that garnered international press, cascading global social impact.

The launch of Kadre Architects is consistent with a long-held vision for bringing together teams with a variety of talents in spheres of influence outside of architecture. Maximizing leadership impact through synergistic collaborations, stakeholders with diverse expert knowledge from technology, engineering, finance, government, and additional design firms, (cadres unique to specific project expertise) are invited to creatively collaborate and ideate throughout the design process. Committed teaming plays a pivotal role as one voice of collective leadership for embedding systematic sustainable solutions.

Advocating for environmental protection and carbon neutrality in the built environment, Kadre’s design culture consistently champions repurposing spaces to reuse and refurbish, wherever possible, rather than create new structures that require greater use of natural resources.

The firm is currently designing several long-term housing projects for houseless people. For the state of California and City of Los Angeles, Kadre is providing leadership in design and sustainability on the state funded Project Homekey; hotel housing for nearly 200 families throughout Southern California. Also for the City of Los Angeles, it’s designing 3 additional projects: a new campus prototype that will house families (over 130 residents), food facilities that will provide 3 million meals per year for houseless residents of Los Angeles and beyond, and LA’s own standard ADU. For the County of San Diego, Kadre is designing an emergency housing plan plus four additional emergency housing projects.
