Moriyama Teshima Architects

Established in 1958, Moriyama Teshima Architects (MTA) has delivered high-quality, sustainable and award-winning architecture, urban and environmental planning and design services in Canada and overseas for over 60 years. MTA has built its reputation on distinctive landmark projects such as the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, and most recently the Etihad Museum in Dubai. The firm has garnered numerous awards for innovative design and planning solutions, delivered on time and on budget. Under the leadership of Jason Moriyama, Diarmuid Nash, Carol Phillips, Brian Rudy, Emmanuelle van Rutten, Ronen Bauer, and Urvish Patel, MTA has cultivated a dynamic team of young, innovative designers around a longstanding core of design traditions that continue to define our practice. Our staff members, between our two offices in Toronto and Ottawa, ON, reflect the demographic diversity that characterizes Canadian culture, a diversity that enriches design and the processes of place-making. We believe that the success of design is rooted in collaborative processes that approach challenges and solutions holistically, and that work at all times to integrate site, building, context and a plurality of perspectives into a built reality of which we can all be proud.
