Why do certain forms emerge: designing architecture stimulated by the landscape?
The design and construction of this house in the Sierra de Madrid, specifically projected in Robledo de Chavela (Community of Madrid), is constituted from a sequence of rooms that open the eyes towards the landscape, responding to the privilege that, in this case, facing south also meant that each of them would frame beautiful views towards the central part of the village.

That is why, in order to elaborate a graphic explanation of our design, perhaps the most appropriate thing to do is to draw on some of Le Corbusier's drawings, specifically those in which he identifies architecture with an eye (from the sketches for his mother's house on Lake Geneva, those of the Unité d'Habitation, to the well-known one in which the appearance of four oblique lines indicates a perspective and as many others represent the window, making him exclaim: The pact with nature has been sealed!)
A fact of architecture: form expresses action.
As for the form of this house, in order to satisfy the owner's wish that his house should not have a flat roof, we morphologically reinforced the action of looking towards the surroundings by fragmenting the volume into trapezoidal sections, crowning them with different inclinations, which determines the significance of this work.

Each of these volumes has been covered with a gray phyllite stone veneer, accentuating the contrast with respect to the rest of the walls, rendered with light-colored single-layer mortar.
One of these roof sections adopts an opposite slope to ensure the most optimal position for the solar panels required for the house.
Architecture as Metaphor (*)
Metaphor is not only the most important, useful and operative rhetorical figure for artistic activity. Anthropomorphism is also an atavistic resource of the human being. And architecture, like any other creative manifestation, will always require them to express itself.
That is why we architects usually use names previously assigned to elements of nature to identify the objects we make.

That is why, from the beginning of the design process, we thought that this house should open its eyes to embrace the central area of Robledo de Chavela and all the beautiful landscape that surrounds it.
