One point of sale has long been a point of reference in the Cortina territory. We are talking about the Eurospar, associated with Aspiag Service, the Triveneto and Emilia Romagna concessionaire of the Despar brand, which occupies the mezzanine floor of La Cooperativa di Cortina – the largest and most important department store in the Dolomites. Taking up an area of 850 square metres on the mezzanine floor, Eurospar has been completely renewed thanks to a restyling project completed with the goal of creating an environment reflecting and best representing the territory. For this reason, the materials – such as the larch wood and architectural elements like the “Crosèra” and “Arfa” – and the design have been planned as a nod to the Ampezzo territory and to the historic uses.
The result is a shop in which tradition and innovation unite to recount a new story, transmitting to visitors the strong bond with the community whilst making them feel right at home.
The LED strip Ribbon, in particular, has proven to be the perfect solution for overcoming the lighting challenges whilst ensuring great impact also in the creation of a sense of well-being for visitors. Within the shop, there are actually two particular areas in which it was necessary to provide targeted lighting that saw the designer and Linea Light Group team work side-by-side.
The first area, being at the entrance, required a connection to be created with the part dedicated to the wine shop that is found in an area detached from the rest of the shop. The realisation of a suspended ceiling and custom lighting were key to achieving the desired result. The outcome is truly striking and can be seen even from the reception area and stairs. The shop’s logo featuring an Alpine Edelweiss, has been specially recreated in the suspended ceiling and illuminated with a RGB Ribbon LED strip with remote control, so as to create different scenographic effects throughout the day. On arrival, visitors are welcomed into a familiar and comfortable atmosphere.
An additional 4000 k dimmable Ribbon was also used within the shop, to illuminate the Barrisol sheets used to create the two artificial skylights placed in the fresh produce and gastronomy areas. The intent was to bring additional brightness inside the shop that, being on the mezzanine floor, does not have windows or natural light. This winning strategy gives the shop a feeling of airiness and of being open to the surrounding territory of the Dolomites.
