Atelier Robotiq is a Rotterdam-based design studio founded by Søren Blomaard and Anne-Lise Heydra, where aerospace engineering, product design, fine arts, and robotics converge. We create light, geometric abstraction, and iconic, pure forms through contemporary light sculptures and innovative designs.
Our work explores the intersection of craftsmanship and technology, blending traditional methods with cutting-edge robotics. From our first major collection, the Fiber Pattern Lamps, to our latest Tape Winding creations like the Sway and Tilt lamps, we push the boundaries of design by integrating diverse knowledge and techniques.
For our latest design we were inspired by traditional Japanese lantern-making, we started by using materials such as cotton tape to create soft, diffused light. We developed an innovative robotic weaving process that scales intricate handwoven patterns with precision, resulting in visually striking and functional designs.
We embrace technology while preserving craftsmanship. By taking the time to craft timeless products, our lamps embody the essence of thoughtful design—objects meant to endure and be cherished for generations.
