Embodied carbon

Efficient
2500+ tons of embodied carbon were saved through material and sourcing choices. The Northlake Commons Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment (WBLCA), conducted in 2021 by Glumac and informed by DCI Engineers, studied the building’s structural system and building envelope. The whole building life-cycle assessment was completed following the methodology as outlined in the LEED v4.1 NC MR Credit “Building Life-Cycle Impact Reduction.” Tally was the tool used for the assessment, and per the above methodology, the building was studied against a baseline version of the building. The LCA analysis included the building’s structure and enclosure, all interior finishes on the structure and envelope walls, structural floors and ceiling and building foundations.
