Sustainability Report

The project’s primary carbon strategy lies in retention rather than replacement. Almost all existing structural elements were retained: timber trusses were lifted and reused, masonry walls preserved, and padstones and posts repaired. 

Operational emissions were reduced by passive measures, including maximising daylight through new openings, improving thermal performance with breathable insulation and finishes, and taking advantage of the barn’s original structure to regulate temperature naturally.
