The prefabricated timber panels store carbon and minimise waste, while the bamboo cladding has a low embodied carbon due to its rapid renewability and minimal processing. Together, these materials reduce the building’s embodied emissions compared to conventional construction.
Operational Emissions / Energy
Operational emissions are reduced through small floorplan, passive strategies and material performance. Large windows maximise daylight, the green roof and insulated timber panels regulate temperature and the elevated, lightweight structure allows natural ventilation beneath, lowering energy demand for heating and cooling.
Service and maintenance emissions
Durable materials minimise maintenance needs over the building’s lifetime. Bamboo cladding and decking resists moisture, UV exposure and decay, while the modular green roof is designed for longevity and landscape integration.
Afterlife
The prefabricated timber modules could be disassembled and reused.
