Afterlife

The project is a clear example of adaptive reuse. The former sintering ponds, abandoned for decades, are being preserved almost entirely, including their concrete walls and beams. Minimal architectural intervention will maintain the industrial character while allowing new public functions. The infinite loop ramp and open layout are planned to create flexible circulation, capable of accommodating a variety of uses, from markets and performances to casual recreation. The south pond is envisioned with an amphitheater and sunken stage, and the north pond will feature a reflective water mirror with surrounding landscaping, providing spaces that can adapt to different programs. In this way, the project intends to transform the former industrial site into a multifunctional, accessible, and democratic public square, respecting heritage while allowing for evolving future uses.
