Carbon Reduction Measures:

- Sourcing materials (pre-mixed concrete, mortar, aluminium façade panels, steel and insulation materials) which are locally produced (within 500km)

- Selection of green building materials/products such as ready-mixed concrete, ready mixed mortar and gypsum board that reduces carbon emissions during manufacturing process

- Selecting recycled glass, steel rebar and aluminium

- Installation of photovoltaic system (approximately 213,200 kWh) to subsidise electricity demand from power grid, reducing annual operating carbon emissions by 0.35 kg CO2/(m2·a).

The project has a 16% energy saving that translates to a reduction of 6.84 kgCO2/(m2.a) when compared against the national standard. 

This reduction of service and maintenance emissions has been achieved through:

- Selecting high-performance insulation and glass in building envelope optimise building’s thermal performance

- Installation of high efficiency heating, cooling and air-conditioning systems that exceed the standard

- Specification of LED lights with lower power density than standard benchmark

- Inclusion of photovoltaic system with an annual electricity output of 213,200 kWh
