Plinth House
Hyde + Hyde  • Architects
The generous, fully glazed façades fill the interiors with natural light, immerse guests into the landscape and draw the eye towards the ocean.
BLOK
Plinth House is embedded into the landscape, before emerging and opening up to the ocean beyond.
BLOK
The first floor is overlaid with a ‘cradle'-like, slatted timber structure, to filter light, offer privacy and mimic the surrounding trees.
BLOK
The ground floor is defined by select furniture interventions – creating a layered effect that offers a sense of privacy and flexibility, without compromising on openness.
BLOK
Plinth House is set far back on a sloping site, surrounded by dense trees and vegetation and overlooking Newport Bay and Irish Sea.
