The building is designed to Passive House standards, which reduces energy demand by about 40% compared with typical residential buildings in New York State. High-performance insulation, energy-efficient lighting and all-electric HVAC systems contribute to lower operational carbon.
Operational Emissions / Energy
Efficient
Energy performance is enhanced with Rockwool insulation, fibreglass ziggurats, high-performance glazing and Passive House strategies. Natural daylighting is maximised via courtyards and SolaTube tubular daylighting devices, reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
Service and maintenance emissions
Durable materials such as synthetic stone, EIFS and copper cladding help reduce the need for frequent maintenance.
