Sustainability Report
Embodied carbon
Low Carbon
A Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment (WBLCA) confirmed that the largest emissions savings stemmed from substituting concrete slabs and structural elements with CLT panels. The resulting embodied carbon measures approximately 330 kgCO₂e/m² — lower than comparable K–12 facilities.
Where concrete was required, low-carbon mix designs were specified. Structural steel used in the podium and selective reinforcements contains 90–99 percent recycled content, reducing environmental impact. Reduced reliance on steel rebar also contributed to embodied carbon savings.
Operational Emissions / Energy
Efficient
The school’s energy use intensity (EUI) is 173 kWh/m², representing a 24 percent improvement over baseline code.
