Afterlife
The project avoids fixed interior layouts and relies on courtyards, platforms, and circulation to organize space. Existing buildings and new insertions remain functionally open, allowing future uses such as exhibitions, education, or community activities to be accommodated without structural changes.
The external brick boundary wall is constructed as a dry-hung system, allowing individual components to be removed, replaced, or reused. Timber structures within the project adopt traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, enabling disassembly and repair without material loss. New interventions, including the brick boundary wall and concrete platforms, are structurally independent from the historic fabric, allowing maintenance or future modification without irreversible impact.
