Sustainability Report
Service and maintenance emissions
We are mainly using locally known building techniques and we are involving the local school communities to participate during each step of the project to create a strong feeling of ownership. Every year we are revisiting the projects we have completed in previous years to listen to the users and learn from potential mistakes that have been made. The users are obviously free to change any usage/ function of the spaces that have been provided. This is not our school.
Afterlife
The roof structure can be taken apart and sold at the local wood shops. Since the adobe bricks are non-stabilized, using just local soil, the classrooms walls will disappear withput leaving any waste behind. The floors are made from burned bricks which are arranged in a bed of sand using a interlocking hering bone pattern. The flor bricks can be easily collected and reused in another project.
