Ceramica Franco Pecchioli and Chini, a tradition that continues
History, we know, is made of twists and turns, and the story of this Florentine manufacture is characterized by the perpetuation of ancient traditions that interact and blend with modernity and looking just like in the tradition of the artisan workshops of the Tuscan Renaissance. They were the pride and inspiration to rtistico that led the painter and ceramist Galileo Chini founded in 1896 in Florence, together with others, The Ceramic Art. Act of pride throughout Tuscany, Florence if not, to wash the shame for the sale by the Ginori family of Richard Shower to the firm of Milan homonymous ceramic factory. Following some misunderstandings between the partners, Galileo Chini, the artistic director, and his cousin Chino Chini leave that 'experience, in 1906, to give life to Borgo San Lorenzo to manufacture ceramic furnaces of San Lorenzo. In this second case, the success and fame are immediate. The Forge, where they produce fine vases with metallic luster often decorated with designs that reflect the themes of the Viennese Secession and Art Deco anticipate, is also measured by the production of stained glass and wrought iron works.
