Lyngard

Lyngard is a small, family run business that develops and produces ceramic lighting. We are based in the heart of the Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Taking our inspiration from the past, we add our handwriting through different shapes, glazes and decoration. One of the more interesting finishes is the true reduction-fired lustre finish. This produces a metallic iridescent glaze that changes colour depending on the light – a technique known by only a handful of experts worldwide. The head of Lyngard is Carmen Lyngard, who joined the family business following a successful career as a Fashion Buyer for several blue chip companies in London. Carmen’s family have been involved in the Pottery industry for over six generations. Her Father and Grandfather were both highly skilled professional ceramic artists. Carmen launched the lighting range in 2014. Our product can be found in some of the leading retail outlets in the UK. All items are hand-made in our factory in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Carmen’s Great Grandfather was awarded an MBE from King George Sixth for his services to the pottery industry. He was responsible for making your ceramic table wares safe today, by reducing the amount of lead in the glaze – so it didn’t poison you!
