Zade Design : Craftsmanship, Nature, Sustainable, and Timeless: The Story of Designs
Zade Design draws inspiration from nature, consisting of living and inanimate objects that continuously renew and change themselves beyond human activity, resisting mass production and ordinariness. Founded by Nadire Ertuğrul, this design studio strives to create timeless designs by placing nature, craftsmanship, and sustainability at the core of their designs.
About the Designer :
Nadire Ertuğrul is the founder and Creative Director of Zade Design Studio. She graduated as the top student from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Bahçeşehir University in 2013.
Together with Architect Ayhan Ertuğrul (ITU), she has been a founding partner at TYM Architecture and Industry & Trade Ltd. Co. since 1993. Under this practice, they provide architecture and interior architecture services, project development and implementation, contracting, and consultancy. Their work spans historic buildings, mass-housing developments, and a variety of socially oriented building projects. They have also participated in international conceptual design competitions, receiving numerous awards.
Ertuğrul defines her design approach through the concept of “utility”—creating thoughtful, simple, functional, robust, aesthetic, and distinctive objects. Her aim is to make useful design a lasting and memorable part of people’s daily lives, even as the world constantly changes.
Guided by her resistance to mass production and the ordinary, she founded Zade Design in Istanbul in 2018 under the TYM Architecture umbrella. Zade Design draws inspiration from nature—living and non-living forms that continually renew and transform beyond human activity. The studio focuses on sustainable, artisanal, timeless design; therefore, each piece is always personalized.
