Kingspan is a global leader in high performance insulation, building fabric, and solar integrated building envelopes. We deliver high efficiency, low cost & low carbon building solutions across a broad range of market sectors. History 1965-1980 Kingspan was founded in 1965 by Eugene Murtagh as an engineering business known then as Kingscourt Construction. The Group was initially involved in the manufacture of steel frame buildings and structural sections. During the 1970s, Kingspan began the manufacture of Insulated Panels and Environmental products on a small scale. 1980 - 1990 During the early 1980s, the Group expanded production of Insulated Panels and began to manufacture Insulation Boards. Numerous manufacturing plants were established in the U.K. and Ireland during this period. The Group floated on the Irish Stock Exchange in 1989 at a share price of EUR0.20 equivalent with a market capitalization of EUR25.0 million. 1990 - 2000 In the 1990s Kingspan expanded organically and through acquisitions adding facilities and sales companies in the U.K., Benelux, Germany, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, providing the Group with additional geographic diversity. Large-scale expansion also occurred across the Group's main operating units. 2000 - 2010 Since 2000, The Group has continued to grow strongly, also entering the Access Floor market in the UK and the USA. In more recent years the Group established a much broader network in Central and Eastern Europe, became a leading player in the North American Insulated Metal Panel market, and established itself as the first mover in Insulated Panels in Australia. During the decade innovation in the areas of Thermal, Fire and Aesthetic performance played a key role in cementing the Groups progress. 2010-present In the period following the global financial crisis, Kingspan has substantially developed its geographic footprint in the larger Insulated Panel and Insulation divisions. The Group now derives almost 50% of its global revenues from Continental Europe, with market leading positions in Germany, the Benelux & France, and more recently a growing presence in Turkey and the Middle East.
