The translucent façade element OKAGEL by OKALUX offers optimal energy efficiency and maximum utilisation of daylight. In doing so, the façade element not only meets the highest insulation, light distribution as well as sound and glare protection requirements, it also looks great. Façades designed with these translucent elements are characteristically homogenous and white. Depending on how the glass is constructed, Ug-values of 0.3 W/(m²K) or less can be achieved. Light transmission and thermal conductivity of the façade elements can be determined according to project requirements.

A translucent Silica Aerogel from the Cabot Corporation in the cavity ensures the positive physical properties. The highly porous silica material is not only lightweight (75 g/l and made 97 percent of air), it also has high heat insulating, light transmission and sound absorbing properties. An advantage of the new insulating glass system is that incoming daylight is scattered evenly throughout the room. The filling material shows almost no increase in temperature and the secondary energy deposit remains low. As a result, the filling in the cavity offers architects and engineers new ways of constructing and designing energy efficient buildings.
