When ZAS Architects + Interiors reached out about capturing their Canoe Landing project, I was immediately excited. I had followed the project for a few years, a new campus in Downtown Toronto, with two elementary schools and a community centre, and it had good design from one of my favorite clients!
Between COVID restrictions, and the size of the campus, this was a complex photoshoot. We also had to navigate the school and community centres constraints. In the end, it was well worth the effort!
From staged interior shots, to exterior shots with passerbys, to drone shots, this photoshoot has everything. While interior shots were difficult because the spaces weren't opened to the public, exterior shots reflect how the community has already embraced the new campus.
I can't wait to see how the spaces are used in the future. There are a lot of special areas: a grand lobby, a fantastic indoor playground, many community spaces, and the crown jewel: a green roof with a basketball court and a community garden!
