Chateau Dufan Restaurant

CHATEAU DUFAN Restaurant was realized in Milan at the beginning of Via Paolo Sarpi, Porta Volta area. The restaurant integrates and completes the neighbouring gelateria-cafè of the same name.

The project gives value to the double exposure of the location and the six windows characterising the facades. The new CHATEAU DUFAN Restaurant fronts onto the most iconic building in Porta Volta area, the headquarter of Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation.

The purpose was to create a comfortable space with a modern feeling, in harmony with the design solutions already applied to gelateria-cafè interior, especially for the restaurant area next to the passage connecting the two public places.

Porcelain tiles inspired by natural stones have been chosen as flooring. The tone of grey is slightly darker than the gelateria-cafè floor, in order to mark the transition without create a break.

Nature is one of the keywords in Chateau Dufan philosophy. The selection of materials with natural appeal goes on with service furnitures and doors finished with natural oak, Brera and Feel chairs by Pedrali in dark oak and shelves made of cedar solid wood.

Tables are realized with Fenix NTM top and stainless steel base, brass finish.

The intrados of the windows have been decorated with stonware tiles by Ornamenta. The patterns, characterized by steps of color that simulate a manual filling, call to mind the concept of "made by hand". Craftmanship is one of the strong points of the restaurant that makes by itself noodles and dumplings in the show kitchen.

The lounge area is more sophisticated, here is the back wall with his strong character and materic surface to hold the stage. It's completely covered with large-dimension slabs of porcelain stoneware hand painted, realized by Target Group. Seating becomes even more comfortable, chairs are replaced by Nym armchair by Pedrali which reviews English traditional Windsor chairs with a contemporary style. A custom-made large table with Emperador Dark marble top dominates the area together with the eye-catching chandelier.

The space matches references to the past with Milan urban modernity as well as Chateau Dufan cuisine enhances traditional asian dishes with a contemporary taste.
