His 3000 sq. ft. apartment, a home for a family of three is an attempt for Ravi Vazirani Design Studio to embrace colour in the most RVDS way possible, colourful, yet minimal. Whilst we usually abstain from indulging in colour, the design concept for this apartment is a combination of a restrained material palette that is infused with varying hues of the coral family. The intent was to create a space that had visual synergy combined with drama and warmth, thus making it appear large and inviting. Large door-to-ceiling built-in structures provide storage throughout the apartment, allowing for it to feel uncluttered and; in turn, make it visually calming and sparse. Most Mumbai homes don’t come up with open spaces, to allow for the apartment to have an outdoor” area, portion of the living room was taken in and treated as an enclosed balcony and clad with natural stone and wood.
