Designed by Capella Garcia Arquitectura, Espai Ridaura is a multi-purpose building located in Santa Cristina d’Aro, Spain. The architects, Juli Capella and Miquel Garcia created a stunning look using VIVIX® exterior façade panels.
An exceptional feature of the Espai Ridaura project is its entrance; or rather the canopy above the entrance door. Featuring VIVIX® exterior façade panels in Fantasia Marron, an earth tone evocative of the area terrain, the canopy is a unifying element of the whole structure linking the inside with the outside. Measuring almost twenty meters, it originates in the auditorium entrance hall, passes through the glass entrance and projects outwards.
Developed in consultation with leading architects and colour consultants, VIVIX offers a fresh perspective in architectural panels. VIVIX architectural panels are available in plain colours with sophisticated neutrals and striking accents, nature-inspired abstract patterns and rich woodgrains, allowing to clad a building, create individual design features or to use in combination with other cladding materials.
“In order to create this impressive feature, we needed a material that would be robust, lightweight to withstand the elements and at the same time provided the possibility of finding the right colour that would reflect the surroundings and provide a natural extension of the environment,” comments Juli Capella. VIVIX panels are not only decorative and give architects an opportunity to accentuate elements and features, creating a statement in the landscape; they are also are practical, functional and can contribute to how the building as a whole performs.
Capella goes on to say: “We needed to clad the roof not only vertically but also horizontally; we chose VIVIX panels because they are simple, easy to install and can be easily cut into the shape and size we required.”
