The floating pavilion is the property of the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam and various events and meetings are held at this location. The construction consists of five layers of EPS with 20 cm concrete on top. The original construction was lacking expansion joints which led to crack formations ranging from 0,6 to 6mm. The original surface supported a hard finishing which caused loud noises. Master Builders Solutions System Partner Frenoflex is, in this project, a subcontractor of the company Neston. In close collaboration with Master Builders Solutions they have chosen the Master Builders Solutions flooring system MasterTop 1327 D – as the best possible solution for this situation. All layers of the sound deadening polyurethane system are applied in liquid form. Thus there was no need for installing a rubber mat which allowed for an easier and quicker installation – within the previously defined schedule. Additionally to better room acoustics MasterTop 1327 D also offers the needed crack-bridging properties. Moreover it is comfortable, durable and visually appealing.
