The client wanted the design for their office to be contemporary but also feel timeless and sophisticated. Their business is about long-term relationships so we wanted something that looked like it would stand the test of time. We wanted it to look good in ten years.
We were inspired by our client, who wanted to create a welcoming experience for their clients, who come for meetings. The architect, Dan Radman, had developed a layout that fostered a strong connection between reception. the board room and another conference room (which are typically client-centered spaces) with the kitchen. The goal was to allow the kitchen to become a welcoming space for entertaining guests before, during or after meetings. By using a visual connection, with the slatted wall between reception and the client area, clients immediately feel welcomed into these spaces.
