Khao San Road + Bang Sue Bar

Khao San Road + Bang Sue Bar

Tucked in a forest of towers next to Toronto’s financial district, Khao San Road is instantly recognizable from the street by the two-storey wall of imported handmade tiles from Thailand.

The dining room’s exposed concrete floors, full glass walls, colourful bunting and food stalls bring the bustle and life of Bangkok’s most famous street market to patrons indoors. This 2,500 sqft restaurant can host up to 120 diners in its two bars and two dining rooms serviced by two kitchens.

DS Studio worked to create a dynamic setting by inverting the exterior and interior, bringing the street inside for a lively and memorable dining experience. On the ground level patrons will find the bustling Khao San Road restaurant, or may head upstairs to Bang Sue Bar for a more low-key setting defined by informal reclaimed furnishings, graffiti art, and food stalls.
