In the centre of the city of Ghent, a beautiful old bakery was transformed into a new lingery shop for the brand La fille d’o. Previously jo taillieuarchitecten also designed the interior of their shop in Antwerp. Similarly here, the owner did not want a conventional shop, but an unconventional place where customers feel good. There are no mannequins, no fixed fitting rooms and no typical clothing racks. Instead, there are standards which are positioned as a grid covering the area of the shop. Some have fluorescent lighting attached.

There are also twosided panels which are rotable and have mirrors on one side and felt on the other to attach lingerie or pictures. The clothing is attached to panels of felt. The design consists of wood paneling, rich materials and precise details. Reflective walls cut through the old bakery and lead the customers to the back of the shop, and subsequently to the front again. At the same time this set up is playing with the customers. We opted for a flexible system of fitting rooms and presentation of the collection. The stools, stock and cash register are composed of stackable baskets made out of steel wire.
