The new development exists of a nursing home of 180 beds, 90 care apartments, a daycare center and a neighborhood community center. We integrate the new development carefully in the existing neighborhood. The elderly inhabitants won’t live in an geriatric institution but become an integral part of the existing neighborhood. In the housing typologies we focus creating familiar environments that the inhabitants can identify themselves with.

We concentrate most of the development in a compact volume that completes a smaller building block. The rest of the site is turned into a public neighborhood park. In the middle of the park we place a small tower with the community center on the ground floor. The park and the community center create a strong relationship between the existing neighborhood and the new development.
