PizzaExpress Live was designed primarily to represent the much-loved historic brand but with an additional layerings of the bohemian. It was strategically designed & crafted to support numerous events such as live music, comedy and the usual great tasting fresh pizza.

The brand has global reach and is well recognised so it was necessary to ensure that there was a sense of familiarity to the venue. At the same time, it was located in a very cool and hip location, so this gave the designers the license to push the boundaries of brand.  The outcome was faithful &recognizable as the Pizza Express brand but had a little more rawness to the fabric of the space.

The layout of the scheme is fundamental. It creates two distinct zones: one area for classic, communal dining and the other for a great bar experience, with a seamless transitional space connecting them. Sailing over them both is the high level viewing gantry with additional dining covers and room for onlookers towards the stage alike.  All areas are positioned to have a direct view of the live stage area.

By any standards, PizzaExpress has a proud and long heritage. The designers also commissioned a Dubai-based art group called the Art Painting Lab. They created a truly unique collection of work celebrating just some of the performing artists that have graced PizzaExpress Live.

Music and sound quality is key to the experience, so crucially an acoustic ceiling system was incorporated in to the scheme.
