The headquarters of BayWa AG at Munich’s Arabella Park had become too small. The company envisioned additional stories for the 18-storey building dating from the late 1960ties. All facades were to be renewed and all offices restructured. During the planning process the main focus was set on studying and integrating the existing edifice.  The solution for the dissatisfactory proportions was to optically dissolve the monolith into eight building slices arranged in a star-shape and offset to one another.
