Recalling memory of red light with persistence of complementary color

5 architects or artists renovated small terraced houses in red-light district in Yokohama. The house I was in charge is only 10 sq. m and the space was divided into two sections, one front space painted in white and the other inner space painted in green. Painted with special fluorescent material, the fluorescent lamp magnifies the color of green. After staying in this green room for tens of seconds, and back to the white room, one can find white room as red room. This phenomenon is called persistence of complementary color, which lasts only for few seconds up to tens of seconds. The space recalls the red light that used to be shining on this neighborhood from the deep in the memory back to mind in a flash.
