"Barcelona Temporary Pavilion" - Santa María. This name was of a ship - Karakka, which was the flagship of the first expedition of Christopher Columbus. The expedition was discovered in South America. On this ship, Columbus returned from his first voyage to America, and I visited the Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand II in Barcelona. Since this area is a monument to Columbus and the building of the old port, it would be appropriate to complete the composition of the pavilion, which is a modern interpretation of the great ship Santa Maria. . First of all, the author of the project was to study the history of the creation of this ship. Since the original drawings has not been seen, all natural reconstruction are made in the image of the preserved data on the courts of such class at the time. The data, which were taken as a basis, "Santa Maria" was a single-deck ship three-masted square-rigged. Length of Santa Maria in different sources is estimated to be 70 feet or 82 feet, that is, respectively, 21.4 meters or 25 meters, up to 40 people. Thus it introduced the concept of a temporary pavilion of Barcelona: Pavilion of Santa Maria, is a modern interpretation of a sailboat. The basic design consists of a metal frame covered with boards of natural wood (teak, beech or oak) covered with moisture-resistant impregnation. . Entrance of the pavilion is a composition of sails made using wooden poles, ropes and canvas. On the upper wooden deck - terrace under the tent is a cafe with a bar and tables.

Thus all conditions are fulfilled of zoning of space and offer their solutions. The total area occupied by the structure of the pavilion on the floor is 400 sq.m.
