After one and a half years of construction time, the new building is another puzzle piece in the building ensemble of SIkora AG, which over the decades and when viewed from above has developed into looking like a satellite.

The façade continues the basic motifs of the existing buildings. The horizontal structure is continued and the established colours are reflected in the red facing stone and the blue aluminium windows. However, with its clear form and the staggering of the vertical, the new building speaks a clear, modern language of form and brings the whole ensemble into the present day.

The cubature, projecting from the first floor and then receding more and more towards the top, creates a logically resulting, generous roofing over the delivery zone and at the same time spacious roof terraces on the third floor.

As a result of the high storeys and for the natural lighting of the deep rooms, the new building was given unusually large window areas, which were created by a play of brickwork or aluminium cladding of the supports and seemingly randomly distributed perforated sheets are formally loosened up. The perforated sheets are kept in dark-blue and thus form a symbiosis of the lighter blue tone of the window profiles and the mostly dark appearing glass surfaces.

By using the perforated plates in combination with a slightly reflecting solar control glazing it was possible to realize the entire building without external sun protection.

Inside, the building is structured from bottom to top and from outside to inside in accordance with the production processes: Starting on the ground floor with workshop, dispatch and production, the upper floors are divided equally into production and offices, and various conference, meeting and relaxation facilities are located on the staggered floor - with offices outside and storage areas inside.

With very different formulations, such as openly laid building services, common, large working areas, floor coating in the production areas as well as room cells with completely concealed building services and carpeting as offices, the load-bearing structure with maximally extended spans and high load-bearing capacity, as well as the laying of the media is designed so flexibly that a change of use is possible at any time.

All storeys are connected to the existing building by a bridge construction in such a way that despite the size, distances are short. This structural concept will continue to support the intensive and uncomplicated communication of all employee.
