What exactly is a Singaporean restaurant? Building a uniquely Singaporean brand.
With Violet Oon being an iconic figure and the doyenne of Peranakan cuisine in Singapore, we wanted to interpret Violet on a personal and intimate level. We wanted to made sure the designs reflect Violetʼs significant contributions & love for the realm of Peranakan cuisine.

This show kitchens were designed to look similar to kitchens at home; we wanted guests to experience this space as if they were
in Violetʼs own very home. With the intention of elevating the dining experience and yet stay true to the “home-dining” essence of Peranakan cooking, we balanced the richer elements like dark timber, brass and leather accents, with more vernacular quintessential South East Asian materials such as rattan and vintage Peranakan tiles.
The tiles are salvaged from old shophouses as we wanted to keep things authentic and pay homage to the long-standing heritage. The choice of deep emerald green mirrors the influence of colours found in Peranakan tiles.
