Instruction Building
Part of the Yuverta campus, the building's elongated form houses various practical classrooms, from bird aviaries to spaces for road paving training. With adaptable spaces, a simple structure, and reclaimed materials, it is circular both structurally and in detail. Innovative systems, such as rainwater harvesting for toilet flushing and plant irrigation, emphasize sustainable construction.

Remarkably Sustainable
Located on an estate, it’s one of four campus buildings integrated into the landscape. The façade, made from reused scaffolding planks from an old marina, adds depth and supports biodiversity with climbing plants, blending architecture with nature.

Demountable and Upcycled
Design connections allow for future disassembly and reuse. The rainwater tank is an upcycled underground concrete container, originally a waste bin from Amsterdam streets, now repurposed as a water reservoir.

Acoustic Pulp and Reused Frames
Interior walls and ceilings are finished with recycled newspaper pulp for acoustic insulation. Every door frame is a composition of reused materials, showcasing visible differences in wood grain and finish.

Sustainable Façade from the Marina
The façade incorporates old marina decking from Breskens, cleaned of oysters, to create an open structure that enhances biodiversity. Surrounding landscaping, designed by Arcadis, includes climbing plants to complete the natural integration.

The building is now in use, providing an inspiring learning environment for both students and teachers.
