GOLDEN MONOLITHS

GOLDEN MONOLITHS Lille - France 2025 SpY's Golden Monoliths transforms the urban landscape of the French city of Lille through the installation of fourteen golden shipping containers in a vertical position, aligned along its main street.  This monumental intervention reconfigures the everyday perception of the public environment, turning industrial objects into totemic symbols that alter our understanding of space. Ruben PB Ruben PB The street ceases to be a simple space of transit and becomes a ritual corridor, a passageway between monolithic columns that challenge the spectator to confront them. Passers-by, now active participants, find themselves immersed in a dialogue with these imposing volumes, which symbolize an er... Más

By making the familiar unfamiliar, LAAB Architects creates a situation that invites people to reflect, to communicate, to negotiate. ORB

“Orb” draws its inspiration from the historical Egyptian heritage around it. The choice of form and materials in the piece is presented as a direct reference to elements of mathematics and symbolism present in classic Egyptian culture and in the Pyramids in particular. Ruben PBescos The shape of the piece alludes to the ‘pi’ number concealed in the geometry of the Pyramids, found when dividing the perimeter of a Pyramid by twice its height. The sphere is an invisible part of the resulting geometry, since a sphere with a radius as high as the Pyramid would have a circumference very close in length to the Pyramid’s perimeter. Ruben PBescos The surface of the artwork captures the Pyramids, the sky, the... Más

EARTH / TIERRA

A luminous red sphere caged inside a structure In “Tierra”, SpY presents an artistic project made up of a luminous red sphere caged inside a cube-shaped structure, constructed with the type of scaffolding normally used on building sites. These 2 simple geometric elements (sphere and cube) form a large-scale construction which stands almost 25 metres high and has been installed in Plaza de Colón in Madrid. Ruben PBescos This powerful visual statement is accompanied by a bright red light emanating from inside the sphere, from which one can almost feel the heat transmitted by the concept of the work.
