This new phase carries forward the initial vision—prioritising open green spaces and a dialogue with the land’s natural contours—while developing its own clear identity within the overall composition. In the city center of Renens, halfway between forest and urban density, the aforementioned project brings together several intergenerational and multifunctional programs, such as a kindergarten, a concert hall and family gardens. The newly erected timber frame building is dedicated to early childhood care and education, while the barn has been completely renovated in order to create a new space for social and cultural use. The cooperative settlement "Rimini" is based on the permeable and open building structure of the residential area. With three four-storey apartment buildings, the scale of the neighbouring surroundings is taken up. The buildings are set at an appropriate distance from each other, so that attractive views are created. This is additionally supported by the slightly bent longitudinal facades. The volumes are kept simple and cubic. The architectural expression of the new buildings with repeating French windows, room-high shutters and slightly projecting roofs conveys an almost Mediterranean, homely ambience. The building holds the new administrative headquarters of the "Federation International de Gymnastique" (FIG).The ground floor accommodates a reception area, a conference room, translation booths and a cafeteria. Above sits three administrative floors and an attic designed specifically for seminar and conference usage. A semi-buried car park and a basement, dedicated to technical installations and archives, serves to the five floors above the ground. Located in the heart of Lisbon, the new four-stories building is on a side street to Marquês Pombal square and Avendida da Liberdade. Its white and red brick facade gives it a distinctive identity, nostalgically reminiscent of the city’s industrial past. Tejo Collective This identity is strengthened by the use of simple, yet elegant materials. The crude bricks outdoors are complemented by smaller glazed bricks in the entry hall and apartments. Like a ceramic bowl, the building is bright outside and polished inside.
