Statutory defined as a center of studies focused on the reflection and diffusion of Brazilian culture and architecture based on the work of Oscar Niemeyer, the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation has as its lines of action:
- The establishment of an information center that combines activities for the acquisition, organization and dissemination of the collection under its custody, with information services on related documents held by other institutions and access to databases in Brazil and abroad;
- The establishment of a research center, also responsible for the development of studies and the encouragement of the production and exchange of knowledge, through the promotion of courses, seminars, competitions and research grants;
- The realization and promotion of publications, exhibitions, films and other cultural activities, aimed at different audiences, with the purpose of contributing to the dissemination of their areas of expertise;
- Support and technical advice for the execution of works, the preservation and restoration of spaces designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
