Lithias is a young innovative French company in a profession as old as history of humanity: sculpture in stone. Founded by Ghislain Moret Rocheprise, Lithias creates sculptures and exceptional ornaments in natural stone, intimately combining the best 3D digital creation technologies, the talent of artists and designers, and the ancestral knowledge of men of the stone. Believing that digital technologies require to reaffirm the place of humans in the modern creation and production workflow, Lithias uses digital and robotic mean with putting the question of the sculptor’s expert gesture at the center of the process of creation of his works. Because the machine is accurate, and the human is relevant. Requested for the restoration of exceptional heritage buildings as well as for outstanding contemporary collaborations, Lithias aims to propose new graphic entries of the stone, exploring the most rustic aspects such as the noblest effects of this multimillenium material. In terms of new high-technologies, Lithias is working on: 3D model analysis, augmented reality, digital sculpture, robotic machining, cobotic technologies, high-definition photomodeling, real-time 3D tracking, … In terms of sculpture collaborations, Lithias has interest in: museum collections edition, designer’s editions, luxury architecture projects, artistic explorations.
