Production process
Depending on the desired look, there are two different manufacturing processes:
1. Extrusion process
During the extrusion process, the raw material is included pressed through a mouthpiece at high pressure. The mouthpiece determines the width and height of the strand, which is then cut to lengths. Through mechanical processing of the surface and the edges as well as the application of sand and engobes create distinctive straps.
2. Compression molding process
Here the raw material is pressed into molds and shaped. This creates distinctive, irregular pinch folds and/or pressed or raised edges and ridges. To release the shape of hand-formed straps comes with sand release agents used. This is what creates this characteristic feature of “bruises” and the sandy surface. With waterstruck aprons, the separation takes place with water. From this A finer surface with verticals is created.
