Ergon Bakkerij: Wonen in een bakkerij Een plek om gebak te maken en te bakken, een winkelruimte, een eethuis en uiteindelijk een hotel, allemaal in het hart van Athene. Ergon Bakehouse is een horecaproject, verenigd door de verleidelijke geur en kleuren van deeg - een semiotisch symbool van zorg. Van de ingang tot de kamers draait het ontwerp van het Urban Soul Project om de levenscyclus van het deeg en de sfeer van een traditionele bakkerij. Ergon Bakehouse is een veelzijdige culinaire en horecabestemming die de kunst van het bakken viert. Inspiration for the concept of the hotel came from the famous painting Full Moon by the artist Yannis Moralis. The painting is a superb example of advanced geometric abstraction, distinguished by solid compositional structure, purity of form, harmonious proportions and dynamic rhythm of flowing curvilinear themes and interlocking patterns. In the island of Zante, the architectural studio Iraisynn Attinom embarked on a design proposal for a hotel complex. Tasked with envisioning the facades, reception building, and interiors, the studio seamlessly embraced an ecological style that would harmonize luxury with environmental consciousness. In the last century, during the summer time, crossing the plains and the seashore of the island of Zakynthos, one encountered different variations of an interesting ephemeral architectural form, the primitive stilt hut. This construction primarily functioned as an observation unit during agricultural work, and later as a pleasant and cool place for the residents to stay during the summer. The plot is located near the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, where prehistoric, Hellenistic and Roman findings have been discovered. In the Northwest the plot is facing the sea (Corinthian gulf) and in the South, the Acrocorinth, a rocky cliff 575 meters high where the castle of Ancient Corinth (700 BC) is located. In an untouched natural landscape with steep slopes and rich relief, characterized by two distinct hills, we have been asked to elaborate the concept and to design a 100-bed boutique hotel. We decided to create a complex of suites with privacy, in a relaxing environment, without disturbing the essential beauty and tranquility of the pristine Mediterranean landscape. We came up with the idea of a castle settlement, with low-rise buildings and integration into the environment as best as possible. The Journey The wild scenery of Attica, with its rocky hills and olive trees, on the way to the busy port of Lavrio, is the site of this " bespoke" Shell petrol station. Rejecting  the pre- fabricated images of Shell petrol stations chains, that are brought directly to a site, while ignoring its characteristics, was the original source of the idea for a custom-made space that allows the User to be an active participant with the surrounding nature.
