With the increasing number of concrete subfloors now found in new home construction, the expectations for better material selections for flooring and finishes are following suit. Our engineered hardwood is 3/4” thick and comprised of a 3/16” layer of solid hardwood, combined with 11 layers of exterior grade Baltic birch. This means there is no question that this product is a great investment in your home. Not convinced yet? Our engineered flooring also comes in lengths up to 12 feet. If you are looking for the most durable wood, hickory is your best option. This specie is the hardest North American wood we offer and is 30% harder than oak. When it is manufactured as an engineered hardwood floor as per our company’s standards, there is no beating this combination. In addition to this, distressing this type of floor will make imperfections that arise from dents and scratches much less noticeable over time than on a smooth floor. So there you have it: engineered construction + hickory specie + distressed finish (+ the Gaylord touch of course) is your recipe for a long lasting floor.
