Afterlife
Aribau 195 was conceived with long-term adaptability at its core. The project maximizes the existing structural framework and introduces a modular spatial system that allows the building to accommodate a wide range of future uses. This flexibility ensures that the architecture can evolve with changing user needs and programmatic demands, extending its lifespan and minimizing the need for major interventions. The design anticipates regulatory shifts and aligns with the European Union’s decarbonization goals, positioning the building as a resilient and future-proof asset.
The building integrates prefabricated façade systems and dry-assembled interior finishes, chosen for their ease of installation and potential for future disassembly. These components are designed to be recoverable and reusable, supporting circular economy principles. Detailed BIM documentation (LOG400 and LOI300) ensures traceability of materials and systems, facilitating future recovery and lifecycle management. Combined with a smart BMS and sensor network, the building enables efficient resource monitoring and optimization, reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility and circular design.
