Sergi Carulla and Oscar Blasco are both architects and landscape architects. In 2005 they founded SCOB architecture and landscape studio, where they have been developing projects that combine both disciplines. They are professors of the Master in Landscape Architecture of the Catalonia Polytechnic University (UPC) and the European Design Institute (IED).
Their work has been nationally and internationally recognised through several contests, awards and specialised magazines. In 2015 and 2016, SCOB won, for its refurbishment and extension project of the Marina Port Vell in Barcelona, the main category of the international FX Awards and the Marinas & Ports category, of the A + Architizer Awards, respectively.
Their Barcelona's Landskate Parks have received numerous awards, among which the IOC IPC IAKS prize, the most important international architecture award for sports, recreational and leisure facilities, under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee. During the last years, these projects have been selected for various exhibitions in France, Switzerland and Spain.
Recently, teams led by SCOB have won the contest of the Tres Turons Park in Barcelona (sector 1) and the ideas competition for the urban development Plan for Mataró City Center. Parallel to professional practice, they work on research on the landscape extended to other formats. His documentary Landskating, has been selected in several film and architecture festivals and has been screened in more than 15 cities in Europe and Latin America.
