The competition brief required materials to meet specific CO2 emission values during manufacturing process: the offsite construction method reduced waste and on-site carbon-generating processes.

The project features aerothermal heat pump for heating and cooling, eliminating on-site combustion; PV array generating renewable electricity to power building systems including the aerothermal units; LED lighting throughout; natural cross-ventilation to reduce mechanical cooling demand.
Afterlife
Adaptive Reuse and Flexible Design Considerations
The modular grid is designed to allow for future changes of use, the prefabricated elements and dry assembly will allow for units to be moved and relocated.
