The city hall incorporates a highly insulated envelope that minimises heat loss, reducing heating demand. PV roof shingles generate approximately 70% of the building's annual electricity demand,  reducing reliance on grid electricity. The compact building form, generous daylighting and energy-efficient building envelope further contribute to reducing operational energy consumption.

 Building services are located above flood level, ensuring continued operation during flood events and contributing to the long-term resilience of the building.
