Afterlife

Adaptability and long-term flexibility were integral to the design strategy. The project is based on a modular structural system that allows for column-free floor plates, creating open and highly adaptable interior spaces. This enables future reconfiguration of layouts and the potential integration of alternative programs beyond the initial function.

The facade design further reinforces this modular logic. On the southern side, a 1.9-meter module alternates between solid walls and windows, reducing solar gain and preventing overheating. The same module on the northern facade is optimized to minimize heat loss, ensuring energy efficiency. On the eastern and western elevations, a wider 3.8-meter module is maintained, allowing for greater flexibility in spatial planning.

Together, this combination of a clear structural grid and facade modularity creates a robust yet flexible framework, capable of accommodating future transformations and extending the building’s lifecycle beyond its original use.
