Given the city’s historical scarcity of water bodies, we proposed a unique regional concept: Lviv’s first "Business Waterfront." Commissioned by the developer Asgard, the design brief focused on the revitalization of over 6 hectares of land, transforming a neglected natural zone into an inclusive ecosystem designed to appeal equally to large-scale business interests and citizens across generations.
A defining element of the project’s uniqueness is the site’s history; the location remained abandoned for decades due to its exceptionally challenging geological conditions. Designing on a complex karst landscape presented a significant engineering hurdle, requiring unconventional structural solutions and profound technical expertise. We successfully transformed a site previously deemed unsuitable for large-scale development into a safe, high-tech foundation for a future urban ecosystem.
The architectural solution is rooted in the synergy between nature and functionality. Duck’s Lake is designed as a multi-layered environment where every building and service complements the next. The project integrates a diverse range of non-residential functions, from premium retail anchors and a gastronomic hub to a Science Museum and a business school for senior students. Professional activity is supported by state-of-the-art office buildings and co-working centers, operating in seamless connection with medical infrastructure. Iconic restaurants along the promenade ensure a 24/7 lively atmosphere, while an extensive underground parking facility clears the surface of vehicles, prioritizing pedestrian routes and the regenerative power of the water.
